Drawing a set of heavy drapes can cut this heat loss, this can can save you money in the longer term. Thin drapes are not as effective as thick ones at preventing this heat loss.

If your central heating system has a hot water tank this must be insulated. A tank which is not insulated will rapidly lose its heat and cause you to pay to heat the hot water once again.
